Section 28 of the Local Government Act

Section 28 of the Local Government Act
By the contentious Section 28 (Clause 2A) of its 1988 Local Government Act, the Thatcher Government prohibited the ‘promotion of homosexuality in schools’. The clause was offensive to many sections of the community and was repealed in the United Kingdom in 2000.
